Hello, I’m Maria Esther Payne
Mother of five, grandmother, wife, systemic therapist and mentor to those living away from their country of origin.
I came to England over 20 years ago, as many women do — with courage, dreams, and the hope of building a better life, for myself and for those I love.
I worked in factories, in cleaning roles, and in manual jobs. At the same time, I was trying to support my family, send money back to Brazil, and keep our connection alive across the distance. But the more I gave, the more I found myself feeling exhausted, frustrated and alone.
What I did not realise at the time — and what I now see clearly — is that I was trying to hold everything together around me, without having learned how to support myself emotionally from within.
It was at that point that something shifted. Instead of continuing to blame myself for not being able to do it all, I chose to explore why I was carrying so much. And that is when everything around me began to change.
It was not just about where I was living, but about what I was carrying.
The real turning point came when I chose to look at my own story — at what lay behind the patterns that kept repeating. Family constellations showed me that I was living out invisible loyalties, trying to save everyone but myself.
This inner shift allowed me to build new relationships, with more honesty and less expectation. I began to realise that it was possible to feel connected to my children, my partner, and even to myself — and to be prosperous — without having to carry everything on my shoulders.
If you have tried to support everyone else and lost sight of yourself, I understand.
Living in another country can feel like a new beginning — and often, it is.
But it can also reveal what has not yet been resolved: difficult relationships, responsibilities that seem never-ending, or echoes of the past, even thousands of miles away from where it all began. I see you.
My work begins there — at the point where you find yourself asking: why do I still feel this way, even after doing everything right?

The beginning of the journey

My Transformation & Mission
Today, I understand the true value of feeling whole.
After years of study and systemic practice, I reconnected with my strength, my clarity and my place. I now live with greater ease, allowing myself financial and emotional freedom, and a new relationship with giving and receiving.
Today, the way I work — and live — is grounded in this: bringing clarity to what lies beneath the pain, releasing what feels heavy, and creating a lighter life with space for what truly matters.

When you align with your place within your family, the world begins to align with you.

Why does this
matter to me?
Because I know what it feels like to carry the weight of the world and still feel like it is not enough.
I know what it is to smile for others and cry alone.
And I also know that there is another way.

What makes my approach different

I am a systemic therapist specialising in family constellations and therapeutic processes for those living away from their country of origin.

My approach is direct, supportive, and free from one-size-fits-all solutions.

I offer online sessions, in Portuguese or English, for people from a range of backgrounds and contexts.

I offer depth and reconnection — not shortcuts or empty promises.

Who I am
beyond the therapist
For a long time, I lived at the pace of the world — reacting to chaos and trying to adapt, always feeling exhausted.
Today, I choose to pause, to breathe, and to value what truly matters: genuine friendships, meaningful conversations, time close to nature, and living with greater authenticity, simplicity and presence.
I was once someone who believed that doing just a little more would make things better.
Today, I understand that true change does not come from doing more, but from feeling differently.
And that is possible.
Embracing your own story is the first step towards living more truthfully.
I am here to walk alongside you through this process.
If something resonated with you, perhaps your journey has already begun.
Shall we talk?

I have supported dozens of women and men across different parts of the world…
…who, like you, were seeking more than just answers — they wanted to feel at home.
If something here has touched you, perhaps a new movement has already begun.
